The Chiflon Provincial Park is located on the RN 150 at a distance of approximately 70 km west of the town of PatquÌa, in the Department Independencia. It is about 150km from the city of La Rioja, capital of the homonymous province, in Argentina.
It is part of the geological basin Talampaya / Ischigualasto. It shares landscape, geological and cultural characteristics with these parks. ItŽs name evokes the sound produced by the wind when it circulates between the rock formations.
This provincial park was created in 2002, covering an area of about 9000 hectares, with the aim of preserving itŽs landscape, geological and cultural resources.
The tour of the park takes place along three circuits, which only one part can be done driving and the rest walking. These can be of low or medium difficulty. In all cases, the activity is done with a guide.Más Información

In the heart of Cerro Famatina is located a historical site which is considered one of the most important in the world.
Between 1900 and 1930, an air transport system called Cable Carril was built in Argentina,a project carried out by an Argentine mining company. This system allowed to transport minerals from the mine ìLa Mejicanaì, at 4,500 meters, up to the city of Chilecito, in a section that exceeds 35 kms in length. It was until 1926, when Englishmen who exploited the mine left this mega project of engineering, and with the pass of the years it was definitely abandoned.
